KITTREDGE

This Kittredge mountain-style home had great bones, but really needed to find its identity! We made the front entry the focal-point with custom double front doors (one of our favorite parts!). On the main level, we added new hardwood floors, updated the old (carpeted!) staircase with heavy rustic newel posts and aged iron ranch-looking balusters. In the front room, the original fireplace was underwhelming - so we installed a large wood-burning unit with warm, clean-cut stones and a hand-scraped wood mantel. The entire home interior was painted, and the old orange oak trim was replaced with knotty alder that was then stained to match the new floors.
